INSCYD has a new interface. The new INSCYD experience is clearer and more intuitive: now you can customize charts and edit training zones right from the results page, compare tests more easily and create a virtual performance projection directly from the overview of tests. It is also the foundation that lets us deliver new features and metrics much faster to you.
Why we rebuilt INSCYD
You use INSCYD to understand an athlete's physiology and make informed decisions about training and performance development. The interface should take you there in as few steps as possible. That is why we rebuilt it: a simpler navigation, direct access to all features, faster customization, and no more going back and forth between pages to find a function you are looking for. Customize graphs in the graph, change training zones, add several templates directly in the PDF report, and much more cool stuff.
This said, we want to thank the 50 users who took part in testing this new version of INSCYD and helped shape it with their feedback and ideas.
Thank you to everyone who took part!
"I've gone through all the buttons in the new interface and I find it not only very clear but also quite refreshing."

So what's new?
Athletes
On the new “Athletes page” you will find new functionality:
Grouping athletes: now you can add an athlete to a Group. This could be a training group, this could belong to a coach, an age group, common goals like long course or short course triathlon … the possibilities are endless. Basically create your own groups however you like and need to keep your list better organized. Just create groups and drag and drop athletes into groups.
Performance Metrics Categories: the position of the meters in the performance benchmarks chart as well as the metabolic fingerprint spider-net chart needs ruling on what are high and low numbers - the performance categories. As you will be aware: INSCYD comes with three default categories (recreational, amateur, professional) and you can create up to 6 custom ones. Now you can do this much easier and faster directly on the athletes page.
Tests
On the Tests page, the major features you are interested in and which you use most often are directly accessible:
Comparing Tests: you can now compare two tests by directly selecting those from the list.
Training Zone Builder: Access this directly from the top of the test data page.
Performance projection: create a virtual test directly from the table of test data. This creates a copy of the original test in which you can manipulate any metric of your athlete - like VO2max, VLamax, body composition, economy … and see how this affects performance.
Faster access: to find a test of an athlete use the search by name, or use the groups (see above). You can also create new and edit existing athletes directly from the test page now.
"I really like the filter function for athletes. Being able to filter in one go by height, VLamax, VO2max, for example, is very useful."

"At first glance, I think the interface looks refreshed and the navigation is more intuitive."

Customize the charts instantly
The graphs you work with the most in INSCYD now each carry a customize icon. Instead of going to Settings › Customization, you can now customize a graph on the fly and where you need it: directly in the graph, instantly.
Here is what you can customize:
Metabolic Fingerprint: adjust the number of angles of the radar chart by adding or removing metrics. You can also change the category aka lower and upper boundaries for the athlete and for each metric.
Performance Development: add additional graphs (up to 3 can be stacked), select which metric to display and assign those to any y-axis of your choice. You will see a preview of the graph in real time to help you decide if the changes you made provide the result you were looking for. You can also change the x-axis from true time scaling to equal spacing - just as you prefer.
Physiological Performance Benchmarks: similar to Metabolic Fingerprint, you can add, remove and configure any meter chart and thereby the metric you want to display here. You can also change the category of the athlete and thereby the upper and lower boundaries of the meters.
Load Characteristics: here you can add, remove and edit the x-axis. You can choose up to two x-axes and select the unit you want for each.
Lactate profile on the test data page: here you can add vertical lines to show the power/speed of MLSS, LT1, VO2max_power etc. You can also add a heart rate graph and use training zones to color the background of the graph. Of course you can also change the x-axis to any unit you like.
"Like the ability to edit directly from the page vice having to exit, go to Feature Store etc.."

Training zones
The powerful training zone builder is one of INSCYD's most popular and most powerful features to translate metabolic data into informed decisions in training. Instead of going to the Training Zone Builder, you can now clone and edit zones directly in the test analysis.
But it gets even better than that: you can also edit zones independently on the PDF report: AND: you can add several pages with training zones and even have different zones on each page! Are you looking to provide several different zones to an athlete? Now you can!
"Really like the ability to edit directly there as opposed to having to exit, go to TZB, find the relevant TZ, amend, exit, go back etc.. [...] This is so much better!!"

Switch tests and create reports from the header
Change Test and Generate Report sit in the header of every test. Use “Change Test” to quickly switch to another test without leaving the tab you are on. Generate Report opens the Report Generator.
Comparing tests
Previously, comparing tests was difficult to access. Now this functionality can be used starting with a quick link from the home screen, via a button on the test overview page or from each test.
"The feature that lets you compare athletes' test results is a great tool."
Daniel Paszek

Also we extended the comparing capabilities: with this recent update the radar chart of the metabolic fingerprint is also part of the comparison page.
All Admin & Settings functionality in one place
Simply click on your name in the bottom left corner of the main navigation sidebar to access settings. Here you can find the most important functionalities to manage your account:
You can add, remove or edit team members and manage what these users of your account are allowed to see and do. You can also update the logo (used in the PDF report) of your organization, download invoices and much more.
