Performance Development Chart

Learn how to customize the Performance Development Chart

Updated over 3 months ago

The Performance Development Chart helps you visualize changes in athletic performance over time using fully customizable, sport-specific graphs. You can configure what metrics are shown, how they're displayed, and how time is represented—giving you complete control over your data insights.

Key Capabilities

  • Up to three charts per sport

  • Up to three Y-axes per chart

  • Custom selection of metrics per axis

  • Choice of even or time-scaled X-axis

  • Sport-specific setup and athlete-specific views

How to Configure Your Charts

1. Navigate to Settings

  1. Open the Settings menu from the Home Screen.

  2. Go to Visualization & Customization.

  3. Click the Performance Development Chart tab.

2. Select a Sport

Choose the sport (e.g. Cycling, Running) for which you want to configure performance charts. Each sport has its own configuration.

3. Add and Customize Charts

You can configure up to three separate charts per sport.

Simply click the button “+ Add another graph” on the bottom right of the screen.

For each chart:

  • Add up to three Y-axes by clicking Y1, Y2, and Y3.

  • For each axis, select a metric from the dropdown list.

  • Choose the X-axis scaling:

    • Evenly Scaled – each data point is evenly spaced.

    • Time Scaled – spacing reflects real time intervals between tests.

4. Accessing Metrics

The metrics available in the dropdown depend on which features you have unlocked via the Feature Store. The Feature Store is the section of the application where you can enable additional metrics and capabilities for your organization.

💡 If a metric is missing, check if it needs to be activated in the Feature Store first.

Viewing Charts in the Athlete’s Performance Center

Once set up, your configured charts will appear in the Athlete’s Performance Center. There, you can:

  • View the three charts you’ve configured for the selected sport.

  • Adjust the X-axis scaling (even vs. time) independently for each athlete and chart.

  • Explore trends over time based on the metrics you’ve chosen.

These per-athlete views help you tailor the data presentation to individual progression and testing frequency.

Creating PDF Reports containing all your Performance Devleopment charts

The up to three new Performance Development charts can also be displayed on the PDF reports. You will find Templates for this in the drop down menu. The name of the templates which host up to three charts end with the suffix “PerfDev NEW”.

Best Practices

  • Use one chart per focus area (e.g., one for endurance metrics, one for thresholds, one for training load).

  • Limit each chart to a few well-selected metrics to avoid clutter.

  • Use same Y-Axis for metrics with similar range: for example LT1 and MLSS, or CarbMax and FatMax

  • Use time scaling to better reflect real-world test spacing.

Summary

The Performance Development Chart gives you a flexible and powerful way to track progress over time—customized to the sport, the metrics you care about, and how you want to view the data. Whether you're focused on metabolic changes, performance zones, or training adaptations, the chart adapts to your coaching workflow.
